Alumni Scholarships

At Kelmscott Senior High School, we have a proud tradition of graduating students giving back to the school in the form of a student scholarship. Students must achieve a B+ or higher to be considered for a scholarship. Scholarships are awarded for the following courses:

Jarryd Urbas Agriculture Scholarship

 

Charlotte Menzies joined the Specialist Agriculture program in Year 7 and completed the program in Year 10. She has continued her agricultural studies into senior school, studying Animal Production Systems. Charlotte always completes assessments to an exceptional standard. She ensures she has a good understanding of all agricultural concepts, and actively tries to improve her written work. Charlotte has a keen interest in cattle handling. She has participated in the Kelmscott SHS Paraders’ Day competition and at the Perth Royal Show. Her dedication has paid off as she was the top student for Year 11 General Animal Production Systems and is a worthy winner of the Agriculture Student Scholarship for 2024.

Albert Koutsoukis Social Science Scholarship

 

We are delighted to announce that Paige Jacob has been chosen as the recipient of the prestigious former student, Albert Koutsoukis Scholarship for Modern History. Paige has demonstrated exceptional research capabilities, strong critical thinking skills, and an ability to clearly articulate her responses and this has enabled her to achieve at a strong academic level.  She has a deep passion for Modern History and demonstrates a strong commitment to her studies and achieving her personal best. Brendon Taylor Mathematics Scholarship

 

Talitha is a delightful student with an exceptional ability for Mathematics. Throughout Year 11, she constantly achieved very high marks in each assessment. Her written work shows that she thoroughly understands mathematical concepts, including those that are beyond high school level. Talitha regularly volunteers to represent the school in Mathematics competitions. She is a true team player with a good sense of humour who provides leadership and guidance for her peers.  Talitha is tutoring younger students in Mathematics and wishes to become a Mathematics teacher. Laura is a talented and dedicated artist, excelling in Visual Arts, Design (Graphics) and Certificate II Visual Arts. She completes all set tasks, written and practical, to the best of her ability. A quiet achiever, Laura has developed skills across a wide range of media, including graphic design and digital illustration, painting, and ceramics. She has produced multiple exhibition worthy pieces and was chosen for inclusion in the 2023 Outside the Frame exhibition. Dr Tony Buti Vocational Education and Training Scholarship

 

Lizzi has proven herself in Year 11 as a highly motivated, mature, hardworking student. As the recipient of the former student scholarship for VET, Lizzi has met the standard from previous recipients of this award. She has demonstrated an exceptional ability in working through her studies towards the Certificate II in Hospitality as a School Based Trainee throughout Year 11, managing her general studies and spending time in industry. In addition, Lizzi has held additional paid employment and demonstrated exceptional time management. She consistently put effort into all her work and sought to improve and demonstrate her competence at all the tasks she was set across all her subjects and in her book work and practical work in Workplace Learning. Julie Dally Chemistry Scholarship

 

Jake studied Chemistry as part of his studies as a gifted and talented student through an accelerated Science program. He completed Year 11 Chemistry as a Year 10 student and immediately showed maturity and commitment to excel in the subject. He worked well individually and with his peers in all practicals and investigations. Testament to his inquisitive nature and capability in Chemistry, Jake demonstrates an excellent understanding of the complex topics in Chemistry. Wayne French Accounting Scholarship

 

Accounting is a course that is constantly building upon prior knowledge and understanding.  As such, it becomes increasingly difficult to maintain good marks throughout the course.
