School Examinations

As part of the teaching and learning programs for ATAR classes, Year 11 & 12 ATAR students are required to sit school based exams twice a year. Semester 1 exams are conducted in June each year for both year groups, whilst Year 12s sit their Semester 2 exams in late September and Year 11s in early November.

 

Further information regarding the timing of examinations will be communicated to students and their families, closer to the exam dates.

WACE Examinations

 

All ATAR Courses of Study have compulsory exams at the end of Year 12. The WACE practical exams will take place annually in late September/early October, these generally coincide with the Term 3 school holidays and include weekends and public holidays. The WACE written exams will commence late September.

Externally Set Tasks

 

All Year 12 General and Foundation courses feature an Externally Set Tasks (EST) as part of their assessment schedule. All students enrolled in a General Year 12 course and/or a Foundation Year 12 course are required to complete the externally set task (EST), as developed by SCSA, for each course of study they are enrolled in. ESTs are conducted in early Term 2 each year, and are administered by the school, they take 50 minutes

UNLESS AN EXEMPTION HAS BEEN GRANTED, STUDENTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO SIT EXAMS IN ORDER TO GRADUATE
