Expressions of Interest Now Open – Semester Two
Kelmscott Senior High School is pleased to invite primary schools to submit Expressions of Interest for Semester Two of our Rising Stars Programme 2026.
Please note:
- Term 2 nominations have now closed
- Limited places are available, with the programme capped at 50 students
Program Overview
Rising Stars is a targeted extension program for high‑achieving Year 5 and 6 students with strengths and interest in creative, digital and future‑focused learning pathways.
Built around a STEAM approach (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics), students develop:
- Digital literacy and technical capability
- Creative and critical thinking
- Collaboration and innovation skills
Students apply their learning through authentic, technology‑rich experiences, encouraging creativity, problem‑solving, and responsible use of digital tools.
Workshop Experiences
Students participate in a series of small‑group rotational workshops (maximum 25 students per group), including:
- Visual Storytelling & Design
- Storyboarding, character development, and visual communication
- Animation & Digital Creation
- 2D and 3D design, animation, and digital production
- Creative Writing & Narrative Development
- Scriptwriting, storytelling, and world‑building in digital contexts
2026 Programme Focus
The 2026 programme emphasises creativity, innovation and future‑focused thinking, supporting students to explore ideas and create solutions relevant to the world around them.
Rising Stars Showcase
The programme culminates in a Rising Stars Showcase, where students present their work to:
- Families
- Primary schools
- Members of the wider community
Expression of Interest Criteria
We invite schools to put forward students who:
- Are high‑achieving and motivated
- Demonstrate strengths or interest in creative thinking, digital technologies or the arts
- Would benefit from extension in a collaborative and innovative environment
