The Kelmscott Apprenticeship Link Program is designed for Year 11 students interested in a career within the trades industry. The program is intended to assist students to build a solid foundation of work readiness skills and give them a pathway into an apprenticeship, paid work or further training in their desired field.
Under the program structure, students attend school fulltime for all but the last 2 weeks of terms 1-3, when they complete blocks of work placement. Students are assisted to seek work placements that are individually tailored to the student’s interests and future career aspirations. Opportunities for work placements exist at both local business and those further afield that are accessible by public transport.
Participants are encouraged to also undertake school supported placements at TAFE whilst participating in the program.
