Selecting a secondary school that best suits the needs of your child is a very important decision.  We thank you for considering entrusting your child’s education to our staff who aim to provide an educational environment in which your child can thrive.

Kelmscott Senior High School’s prime focus is to cater for the families and students in our defined local intake area.  Students currently enrolled in Year 6 and Year 7 at contributory Primary Schools must submit enrolment forms.  Students who reside outside Department of Education Primary School defined local intake areas for Kelmscott SHS will be considered with all out of area applicants.  (Intake area maps can be viewed in the intake area maps section below orwww.det.wa.edu.au/schoolsonline/.)  Where room exists in classes, out of area enrolments are considered in line with Department of Education policy as follows:

First Priority – A child qualifying for a specialist program approved by the Director General for that year.

Second Priority – A child who has a sibling also enrolled at the school in the current year.  Siblings can only be accepted when accommodation is available.

Third Priority – A child who does not have a sibling enrolled at the school in the current year.

The following documents need to be returned to Kelmscott SHS for enrolments to be processed.

  • Application for Enrolment
  • Proof of Residency:
    • Rates notice or Tenancy Agreement; and
    • Two recent documents indicating current residential address – bank correspondence, utility account (eg. gas, electricity etc).

You will be notified of the status of your application.  If your application is accepted, you will be required to complete enrolment procedures.  Parents should ensure that evidence of the child’s legal name (Birth Certificate) and age, school reports, immunisation records, records and samples of work from the previous school, medical advice and any Family Court Orders or Parenting Plans registered with the Family Court are made available at the time of enrolment.

In addition to submitting an application for Kelmscott SHS we encourage parents of out of local intake area students to enrol their children in the local High School as our capacity to accept out of intake area students has been limited in recent years.
